A partner who knows how a product is made knows what to expect — and, more importantly, knows what to ask for. So this is not a marketing walk through the factory floor, but a description of the actual route an order travels from the moment it arrives to the moment it leaves packed.
Our production is in Stara Pazova, Serbia. We work strictly wholesale — with blind retailers, contractors and specifiers. We do not attend site measurements and we do not install; what we do is manufacture to the dimensions the partner sends.
1. Incoming material inspection
Nothing enters production before it has passed goods-in. Materials are imported — fabrics, aluminium and galvanised profiles, brackets, mechanisms, end caps and small parts — arriving in consignments that are customs-cleared before they reach the warehouse.
What is checked on arrival
- Fabrics — roll width, weight, colour consistency within a batch, and visible damage on the outer wraps.
- Profiles — straightness, quality of the anodising or galvanising, dimensional accuracy of the cross-section.
- Mechanisms and small parts — completeness against the specification and compatibility with the profiles they pair with.
Each item also carries the data the import documentation requires — customs tariff codes and net weights. That is not a formality: without accurate per-batch records, there is no way to establish later which roll a particular position was cut from.
Why this matters to a partner: if a fabric complaint appears six months later, batch records are the only way to determine whether the problem lies in the material or in how it was used. Without them, every complaint is an argument without evidence.
2. The works order and the bill of materials
A partner's order does not go straight to the cutting table. It first becomes a works order — a document that breaks every position down into an individual line with its dimension, system type, mounting type, control side and roll direction.
For each system type — roller, zebra, ZIP, pergola — there is a defined bill of materials: the exact list of everything one position consumes. How much fabric, how many linear metres of profile, which brackets, which mechanism, which small parts.
The bill of materials is not administrative trivia. As soon as an order enters production, the material is reserved in the warehouse against it. That is what prevents the stupidest possible hold-up — an order worth several thousand euros standing still because a few cents' worth of end caps ran out.
Dimensions in the works order are kept in centimetres, and fabric waste runs at roughly 3–5% depending on roll width and how positions are laid out. With non-standard dimensions that percentage rises, because the full width of the roll cannot be used — which is also why unusual sizes sometimes affect price.
3. Cutting
Every position is cut individually. That sounds inefficient until you consider the alternative: no two wholesale orders are alike, and the differences are often measured in millimetres. Batch cutting makes sense only when dimensions are genuinely identical — and in practice, that is rare.
The fabric edge is finished so that it cannot fray across the width. On synthetic fabrics that means heat-treating the edge rather than cutting it mechanically — the weave closes at the cut, so it does not shed threads through years of rolling up and down.
What differs between systems
- Roller — a single fabric, both side edges finished, a pocket sewn or welded for the bottom bar.
- Zebra — double fabric with alternating bands; it demands tighter control of registration, because even a small shift means the bands do not align when the blind is closed.
- ZIP — the fabric is given a side edge that runs inside the guide; that edge is a load-bearing element and it is what lets a ZIP take wind.
4. Mechanism assembly and calibration
The cut fabric is joined to the tube, the mechanism and the brackets. On manual systems, chain travel and even winding are checked — the fabric has to wind on parallel, without "walking" to one side.
Motorised systems add a step that is invisible in the finished product: setting the end limits and running test cycles. The motor has to know where the top is and where the bottom is, and that setting is tested before packing, not on site.
5. Quality control before packing
Before a position goes to packing, it passes a check covering four things:

If a position fails the check, it goes no further. Damage arising in production is recorded as a separate works-order status and tracked apart from normal production — the position is remade, and the material cost stays with us.
That separate tracking is not just an accounting entry. It is the only way to see where waste repeats: if damage occurs more often on one system type than the others, the problem is in the process, not in luck.
6. Packing and dispatch
Each position is packed individually and labelled with the reference from the order — the same one the partner gave. That detail is worth more on site than it looks: without a label, twenty near-identical packages mean twenty openings to find the right one.
Profiles are protected against scratching in transit, and mechanisms are packed so the chain cannot tangle around the tube. A position-by-position specification travels with the consignment and doubles as a checklist on receipt.
Real lead times
The lead times below are standard and run from the moment the order is complete — not from the moment the enquiry arrived. An order missing a single piece of data waits to be completed, and that waiting is not counted in the lead time.

A complaint is settled on the floor, not in an email thread
When production is close by, a disputed position physically comes back, gets looked at and, if needed, remade. When a finished product is imported, the same complaint becomes an exchange of photographs with someone who will never see the position.
Non-standard sizes are not an exception
Since every position is cut individually anyway, an unusual dimension does not change the process — it only changes material yield. Limits exist at the maximum roll width and with geometry that is not rectangular, and those are discussed up front.
The lead time is predictable, because it does not depend on someone else's lorry
Lead time depends on our own production plan and on material availability in the warehouse. There is no step spent waiting for another party's dispatch slot or a customs procedure on a finished product.
Samples on request
Physical fabric samples are sent to partners free of charge. A colour on screen and a colour on the client's wall are not the same thing, and a sample costs incomparably less than the wrong collection chosen on a fifty-position project.
